Why petcare lamps are required
Animals living in the wild are adapted to and rely on various environmental conditions to stay healthy: temperature, humidity, sunlight, water, etc. When these animals or plants are kept indoors – or are taken out of their natural habitat – the same or very similar natural conditions have to be provided.
The required light conditions can be perfectly controlled by artificial methods, and Sylvania has decades of experience within this field. Our Research & Development team have developed lamps with specific light spectra to replace natural light in aquariums and terrariums. These development activities are continuously ongoing together with our major customers.
How petcare lamps work
The main function of petcare lamps is to simulate the same conditions as in the wild and the effect of sunlight can be reproduced with our designs. In fact, the spectrum of petcare lamps consists of UV-A, UV-B, blue and red visible radiation, to create a complex effect for animals’ well being.
